We’ve created Our Australian Build Diary to document our experience building a home with New Choice Homes in Perth, Western Australia.
The project began as a way of keeping a clear record of what was happening during our build — construction progress, delays, inspections, defects and the information provided to us along the way.
Over time, it has also raised broader questions about the experience of homeowners during residential construction: access to reliable information, transparency around build progress, independent inspection findings and the practical avenues available when things do not go as expected.
Our approach is straightforward: document what happens, use dates and evidence, and allow people to form their own view.
We’ll use this COMMENTARY page to share relevant parts of that record, as well as observations about the wider consumer issues that arise during the building process.
